What’s in it for me?
We believe that volunteering, while also serving the good of our organization, should be good for the volunteer as well! You should end your volunteer shift feeling like you’ve helped your community, grown as a person, enjoyed comradery between your fellow volunteers and our staff, experienced friendliness and goodwill, and are going home with a warm sense of fulfillment.
We also believe that volunteering should have an element of FUN! So we try to make volunteer opportunities enjoyable for our dedicated volunteers.

We always welcome volunteers who support our mission and are interested in making a positive contribution to our community by donating their time, skills, and ideas. Volunteer opportunities in Orlando include:
Community Event Helpers
26Health hosts events designed to amplify the voices of the Central Florida community. Events like our Kickoff Party for Transgender Awareness Week promote the dignity and visibility of the transgender community. Our Teal Tie gratitude gala is a “thank-you-raiser” which comes at the low price of free because of the volunteers who help us put on this massive teal-and-fuchsia themed night.
Family Pride gatherings, Gay Days Kickoff, our Happy Hours, and other community events we support like the Zebra Coalition 5K and the Orlando Youth Empowerment Summit all offer volunteer opportunities as well.
Medical Support Helpers*
Outside of the clinic setting and in the communities we serve, we offer testing and patient care events that need the support of volunteers. In our clinic, there are other opportunities to serve, such as providing information to participants regarding services provided at 26Health or conducting testing at community events.*
*If you will be working with patients, we require you to sign a HIPPA volunteer/vendor confidentiality agreement. Some volunteer opportunities, like testing for HIV, may require additional certifications.
We believe volunteering can help strengthen our Orlando community through our volunteers sharing their skills and, in turn, having the trifecta of volunteer satisfaction emotions: gratification, achievement, and attainment.
Please note: in-person volunteer experiences have been reduced dramatically by COVID-19. Please check back with us frequently as we hope to return to more in-person volunteering soon.
