Support for Gender-Diverse Communities

Official Statement

26Health is extremely saddened with the passage of SB254. Florida legislature’s position on evidence-based care is counter to agreed upon standards set out by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association.

As a result of SB 254, and to meet the requirements set out by the State of Florida, it is with deep regret that we are no longer able to provide Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), surgical clearance letters and gender marker letters to our transgender, gender nonbinary, and gender nonconforming patients.

While we are unable to provide these services at this time, 26Health firmly believes that our transgender, gender nonbinary, and gender nonconforming community members deserve to live fully and openly as their truest selves. We will continue to provide care to our gender diverse community members including primary care and mental health services, which are incredibly important during this difficult climate.

Since our founding, 26Health has proudly served the transgender, gender nonbinary, and gender nonconforming community in Central Florida. We stand by our gender diverse community and are working on a path forward to serve those who need. We encourage everyone who supports equitable and non-discriminatory healthcare access to reach out directly to their legislators to express support for the needs, dignity, and safety of all our community members.
