Vice President of Strategic Initiatives

Terrance Hunter (he/him) is an Orlando native who has worked in the nonprofit sector for nearly 20 years, leading initiatives across arts, education, and community health. His career began at the Orange County Regional History Center, using history as a tool for civic engagement. He later led educational programming at the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville and exhibitions and partnerships at the Holocaust Memorial Resource & Education Center of Florida.

From 2019 to 2024, Terrance served in several leadership roles at Central Florida Community Arts, including CEO, where he significantly expanded the organization’s impact at the intersection of arts and public health. Under his leadership, the internationally recognized School of Arts & Health grew in both scope and visibility, serving individuals from as young as six weeks old to older adults navigating Alzheimer’s and dementia. Through trauma-informed programming, creative aging initiatives, and arts-based wellness strategies, Terrance positioned the organization as a national leader in arts and health. He also served on a national arts and health task force, reinforcing his commitment to using the arts as a tool for healing, connection, and community care. In 2024, he joined the team at 26Health as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, helping to lead the organization’s growth, innovation, and impact across Central Florida and beyond. His work is deeply rooted in the belief that cultural and health institutions can be catalysts for equity, connection, and lasting change.

Terrance currently serves as Board President of the Hope CommUnity Center, a vital resource for immigrant and working-class communities. He is also a board member of Descolonizarte Teatro, a member of the Arts & Culture Advisory Committee for Congressman Maxwell Frost, and a member of the Central Florida HIV Planning Council. Additionally, he serves on Orange County’s Tourist Development Tax Application Review Committee. He is the Immediate Past President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Central Florida Chapter and a former board member of the National Alliance for Music in Vulnerable Communities.

A passionate advocate for inclusive and community-centered leadership, Terrance has been recognized by Orlando Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 and is a regular contributor to Watermark Magazine. In his free time, he enjoys writing, reading, baking, and visiting zoos, botanical gardens, and aquariums.
