Blaine Tucker, ARNP is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who has returned home to the Orlando area after a 13-year hiatus travel nursing and furthering her education. Blaine has been in healthcare for over eighteen years starting as a nurse tech at Florida Hospital Orlando then as a registered nurse for three years in the Cardiac ICU.
Blaine did her undergrad studies at Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences (now AdventHealth University) and in May 2013 she graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia with her Adult-Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She continued on and in August 2019 she completed the University of Cincinnati’s online post-graduate certificate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.
Blaine’s first position as a nurse practitioner was with the Acute Pain Management Service at the University of Maryland’s R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center where she helped provide support to patients with medications and with non-medication techniques. She spent two and a half years on APMS before starting with Integrative Medicine. Blaine spent January 2016 to January 2020 at the University of Maryland’s Center for Integrative Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. During this time, she was involved in research, education, clinical work, and leadership in the inpatient and outpatient settings. As a member of the Center for Integrative Medicine Blaine was trained in several techniques including Reiki, mindfulness techniques, yoga Nidra, expressive arts and other mind-body techniques.
Blaine is so happy to be home where she and her new husband can build their new life together with their dogs Roxy, a Doberman, and Jake, a mini dachshund. She and her husband are looking forward to taking their jeeps out wheeling and to Jeep events. Mostly she is happy to be back close to her family and friends and to be part of such a great organization dedicated to making the world a more loving and welcoming place.
