Angel Avila is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, born in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. Angel is fluent in English and Spanish. He was raised in the border town of El Paso, Texas, where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing Education.

He began his nursing career in a local emergency room, where he learned how to treat patients in crisis situations. He then became an emergency room travel nurse and traveled to cities such as Houston, Raleigh, and Washington D.C. It was in the emergency room where his passion for mental health began. The core of nursing is to provide compassionate holistic care that allows them to look at a person as a whole.  Angel realized how much the mental well-being of a person affects their overall health, therefore, he found his calling. On his free time, Angel likes to hike, kayak, travel, try new restaurants and go to breweries. Angel has five cats and is proud to be a crazy cat man.
