Cooler Months Are the Perfect Time for Laser Hair Removal
by Brandi Concolino
Aren’t you loving this cooler weather? Fall is my absolute favorite season of the year. With the crispness of the air, the smell of cinnamon and cider, and all of the vibrant colors, what’s there not to love!
Okay, I know, we live in Florida. It’s not exactly like we get a bonafide fall here, but a girl can pretend.
And having to cover up a little more means we don’t have to worry about our unwanted hair, right? WRONG!
Your Journey to Becoming Hair-Free
Fall is the perfect time to begin your journey to becoming hair-free. How nice would it be to slip on those cute jeans and not have to worry about sliding stubbly legs into them? I have to say, I hate shaving and enjoy not having to shave in the fall just as much as I do in the summer. Besides not having to deal with stubble, I save so much time (and money on razors) by not having to shave. But, for as nice as the convenience factor is, there is another reason why fall is such a good time to have unwanted hair removed: We don’t spend as much time in the sun this time of year, which means you don’t have the same concerns as you do in the summer months.
Specifically, the hyperpigmentation that can occur with sun exposure. This type of hyperpigmentation can cause skin sensitivity, leading to burns or scarring, particularly after a laser hair removal treatment. Avoiding sun exposure after treatment allows the skin to heal and reduces the chances of hyperpigmentation occurring. This is one of the biggest reasons why I encourage my clients who are considering laser hair removal to begin the process in the cooler months. And, if you were to start your treatments in the fall, you would be ready for the bathing suit season next summer!
However, there is no wrong time to begin laser hair removal because it can be done year-round. Still, this is a very popular time for me to see new clients because everyone is spending more time indoors, and sun exposure is less of a concern.
Make Plans to Give a Gift to Yourself
With the holidays coming, don’t neglect yourself. I think we all tend to do that in general, but we need to make taking care of ourselves a top priority. When we look better, we feel better, and when we feel better, that projects outward into a beautiful cycle. Bottom line, come see me about getting laser hair removal. I promise you won’t regret it!
